Soap and Glory, Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping Gloss

Hi guys,

So I have mentioned that I will be doing this post quite a few times, and guess what? I finally got around to writing it. I should be posting a bit more for the next week as I am on half term holiday so, yay!

This is my ‘Soap andGlory, Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping Gloss’ review.

The description for this product is: Britain’s hottest selling lip plumping gloss, Soap & Glory’s bestselling Original Formula SEXY MOTHER PUCKER includes ingenious PLUMPING MICROSPHERES that explode in volume up to 10x when they come in contact with water (they’re like tiny, dehydrated little sponges that expand when they get wet) and an exclusive microcirculation-stimulating extract to visibly enhance lip volume. Amazing. Addictive.

The packaging also says that a tingling sensation is normal and is just the lip gloss working.

The tingling sensation is definitely present on my lips; it begins after about five minutes and lasts for about half an hour. I do notice a difference in the plumpness my lips, I don’t know if that’s just because I'm looking for a change but…

I have one piece of advice if you’re planning on wearing this gloss, DO NOT, wear it out when it is windy, you WILL get hair stuck to your face. This is a very sticky lip gloss but because of this it has very good staying power. It also feels super moisturising which is always a bonus, am I right?

I have this in the shade ‘Candy Gloss’ which is a very pretty pale nude colour.

The Soap and Glory, Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping Gloss RRP’s at £9 which is not too bad for what it does.

I don’t know if this is something I would've picked up, my wonderful Mum got it for me to replace the S&G Gloss Stick I lost on my German exchange but I am very glad I got this one. I love it and will definitely repurchase it when I need to (which I don’t think will be for a while!).

If you are looking for a long lasting, very pretty gloss and feel like your lips could do with a bit of a plump, I would definitely recommend this. Even if you’re not sure about the lip plumping aspect of this I would still recommend it as I wasn't sure at first and I now love it!

(It also comes in such lovely packaging which helps!)

Pitch Black - Part 11

Hi guys,

I'm sorry there was no Pitch Black instalment last weekend, I had a spot of writers block but I am back on track this weekend. Hope you enjoy it! This was meant to go up yesterday but I managed to lose everything I'd written...

I feel the tears escaping my eyelids and I let the defeat engulf me. The tears turn into a thunderstorm, taking over my entire face. I curl up into a ball and let my salty water wash over me. A familiar set of arms wrap around me and pull me up to sit, a red flannel shirt falling over my face. Not once losing his hold Sam squeezes me and holds me together and in that moment I felt like I was finally being rebuilt, like all my pieces fit together again. No longer a humpty dumpty, shattered beyond repair. “Thank you” I mumble, hoping my vocal chords still work. I look up at Sam to see his face is no longer full of sadness but full of hope. I breathe in to try and stop the tsunami escaping my eyes, fractured breaths, shallow and loose. It’s not working, I look up at Sam who nods, without me even needing to ask, and I let my face collapse into his chest, a whole new wave of sadness and anger washes over me, the tsunami cannot be stopped, only embraced.

I don’t know how long we sit there, me sobbing into Sam’s chest, Sam stroking my hair, but eventually he takes his hands off my back and signs ‘shall we go and see what’s going on’ I nod, not sure if I do want to I take his hand and stand up, feeling like bambi I begin to walk over to my parents, their faces pools of worry, after finding out their daughter was okay, they had to go and find out about the house, it doesn’t look good.

With every step I take my breathing feels more laboured, my stomach begins to somersault and my legs turn into jelly. ‘I need to sit’ I try to stammer, slowly lowering myself to the ground. I feel weak, sick and I can’t breathe. Looking up at Sam I notice his face is the picture of scared. His mouth opens and a nurse who was with the fire fighters runs over, it feels like the world is in slow motion. The nurse starts talking to me and I look up at Sam, who quickly whispers something in the nurse’s ear. The nurse goes bright red and talks to Sam. ‘She thinks you’re having a panic attack’ he signs ‘you’ll be okay, they never last more than 20 minutes. You need to concentrate on your breathing’ he continues, ‘breathe in for four seconds, hold it for two seconds and breathe out for four seconds. Concentrate on thinking about the word calm.’ Sam blushes before adding ‘she thinks I’m your boyfriend, and a very good one!’ I muster a smile and begin to concentrate on my breath.

I slowly feel my heart begin to get back to normal and my body become stronger again.

Hauls

Minus-the-clothes Haul

Hi guys,

So on Saturday me and mum went into Birmingham and had a *little* bit of a splurge. As you can see from the title this is a minus-the-clothes haul. The reason for this is that I thought it might get a bit boring with them, if you want to see the clothing items I bought leave a comment and I'll consider a with-the-clothes post! Let's get into this!!

SELFRIDGES

The first thing I bought was this mac 'Bao Bao Wan' lipstick in the shade Romantic Breakdown. This is just a really pretty nude colour which is gorgeous on. This is the first of my mac collection and I love it to pieces!

URBAN OUTFITTERS

This is the W.I.P nail polish in holographic. This is such a gorgeous polish (you can see it on my fingers in the mac photo) and was definitely worth the money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has ever painted their nails.

URBAN OUTFITTERS

This book is 642 things to write about by the San Francisco Writers Grotto. This book is basically full of writing prompts and ideas and I can't wait to try it out!

VICTORIA SECRET

Let me start this by saying - I WAS ONLY GOING TO GET TWO (?!?!)... However three was cheaper than two and then I was told if I got two more they'd only be £3 each. I caved. I got these in the scents:

They all smell fabulous - Why haven't they invented smellputers (the internet's smellevision) yet?!

URBAN OUTFITTERS

I bought this glass drinking jar. Two words - too cute. I took this to my netball game with a smoothie in it and let me tell you know, I felt like my life was cute and organised when in reality it's really not :)

SUPERDRUG

This is the Zoella beauty bag / pencil case. I personally am using this as a pencil case but obviously you can use it as either. This is quite big but I don't mind it as it means I can keep my calculator in it as well which I can't normally do. I really like this design and I think the colours work really well together.

SUPERDRUG

If you have read my lush collection post then you will know that I can not use lush bathbombs anymore. The Zoella fizz bar however I am fine with. I bought it to try and have already used it. I think this is partly to do with the size of the pieces as well as they are small compared to the Lush bombs. This gives the bath a nice scent and calming feel but not much else. I really like it and am glad I can get back into bath products!

February favourites!

Hi guys,

So I've not done a favourites post before so I'm sorry if this is a bit rambly and not very good but I've been lacking inspiration lately so I thought - why not? Also leave me a comment if you'd like this to become a regular thing :)

Some of these products I only started using in the past few weeks others have been staples for a while.

Barry M Showgirl Mascara

I have definitely mentioned this before but it is the best mascara I've tried so far. I find that one coat is enough to define your lashes without it looking like like you've got loads of mascara on but it also builds up nicely to become a lot more bold if you want it to be.

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping Gloss

This does have a bit of a mouthful of a name but I love it none the less. This wasn't the original Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss that I had - I originally had the gloss stick but, me being me managed to lose it in Germany...

My mum picked me up this to replace it. I must admit I was wary when I first used it as it was a lip plumping gloss but I am loving it. I don't notice a massive difference in the size of my lips (which I don't mind too much) but there is definitely a change and the tingling sensation that begins after about five minutes is one that I find quite nice (Is that strange?). I have it in the shade candy gloss which is a really nice nude colour. I won't go into too much detail about this product as there is a full review coming soon.

Barry M Silk Nail Polish

I received this for Christmas in the colour heather which is a really nice lilac colour. I really enjoy using this polish as it glides on easily and after it has dried it does feel very silky (hence the name - silk). This paint usually lasts 2 to 3 days without chipping but I am not gentle with my hands and nails so it could probably last longer on other people.

Podcasts

I started listening to podcasts whilst in France two weeks ago. I started with the classic 'desert island disks' which I enjoyed. I then had a search and came across the Lauren Conrad podcast recommendations on bloglovin. One if these was serial and as it was the one that started it all of for her I gave it a try. I am only on episode four as I don't often have the time to listen to a forty minute podcast but I am enjoying it. There are so many podcasts to choose from and they're all free so I highly recommend them. Especially if you have a long journey coming up.
